Emilio Stainless, based in Manila, Philippines, has built a solid reputation as a manufacturer and supplier of specialty welding consumables. They offer **AWS Class E320LR‑16 electrodes** (which you might see written as “E320LR‑16” or “E320LR16,” but they all refer to the same class). These electrodes are crafted with meticulous quality control to ensure they deliver reliable welds, even in harsh, high-temperature environments. From chemical plants to process piping and heat exchangers, Emilio Stainless serves a variety of industries across the Philippines, providing consistent performance, precise specifications, and trustworthy support for all your welding needs.
The **E320LR‑16 electrode** is specifically designed to deposit a stabilized austenitic stainless alloy that closely resembles “Type 320” stainless. It features controlled levels of carbon, silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur, along with niobium (columbium) to help minimize the risk of microfissuring. The typical chemistry of the weld metal includes around 19–21% chromium, 32–36% nickel, 2.0–3.0% molybdenum, and copper ranging from 3.0–4.0%, with Nb + Ta = 8 × C (minimum) up to a maximum of 0.40%. In its typical “as-welded” state, this electrode achieves a minimum tensile strength of about 75 ksi (approximately 520 MPa) and an elongation of at least 30%. It’s designed for use with AC or DC+ (DCEP) current and can be applied in all positions (F, V, OH, H). To prevent solidification cracking, it’s advisable to use low heat input during the welding process.

These electrodes offer excellent corrosion resistance and are suitable for welding stainless steel structures. They come in various diameters, such as 2.5 mm, 3.2 mm, and 4.0 mm. The light coating facilitates smooth arc stability and minimal spatter.
Providing superior corrosion resistance, heavy-coated electrodes are ideal for high-stress applications. They are available in diameters of 3.2 mm, 4.0 mm, and 5.0 mm. The heavy coating enhances the weld’s integrity and improves its resistance to oxidation.
With excellent corrosion resistance, these electrodes are designed for shielded arc welding of stainless steel. They are typically available in 2.5 mm, 3.2 mm, and 4.0 mm. The shielded arc provides enhanced protection against contamination during welding.
The AWS Class E320LR-16 Electrodes are primarily made up of chromium (19–21%), nickel (32–36%), molybdenum (2–3%), and a low carbon content that boosts corrosion resistance. This unique blend ensures remarkable mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength (around 550 MPa) and excellent elongation for better ductility. The low levels of residual carbon and silicon help reduce carbide precipitation, which in turn prevents intergranular corrosion. These electrodes are known for their outstanding weldability, stability, and crack resistance, making them perfect for joining both similar and dissimilar alloys in highly corrosive environments.
E320LR‑16 electrodes are especially effective for welding corrosion-resistant alloy assemblies in industries like chemical processing, pulp and paper, refining, and heat exchanger construction. They excel in environments where resistance to sulfuric acid, chlorides, or oxidizing conditions is crucial. These electrodes are perfect for piping, tanks, process equipment, and clad overlays, ensuring that the weld metal matches or complements Alloy 20 (20 Cr‑35 Ni).
