The AWS Class E410-16 electrodes are primarily made from a martensitic stainless steel alloy, containing about 11-13% chromium and minimal nickel. This formulation is specifically designed for welding 410 stainless steel grades. These electrodes boast impressive tensile strength, typically around 85,000 psi, along with good hardness and moderate resistance to corrosion. They are intended for use with a direct current electrode positive (DCEP) power source, which allows for a stable arc and easy slag removal. Their mechanical properties ensure toughness and wear resistance, making them ideal for applications that demand durability and high strength.
